Mount Carmel Church to Launch Program in Waite Park Elementary

We are excited to share that The Sheridan Story weekend food program will launch at Waite Park Elementary School in January 2014! Mount Carmel Lutheran Church has enthusiastically led the expansion into Waite Park school and is eager to begin reaching kids living in food insecurity with a bag of food each weekend.

Located in Northeast Minneapolis, Waite Park Elementary School’s student population consists of 450 PK-5 students. Approximately 275 of those student are on free or reduced lunch, indicating that their families live in poverty. Waite Park school is committed to the learning and well-being of their students and seeks out community partnerships to strengthen the school.

Mount Carmel Lutheran Church is passionate about serving the community in meaningful ways, as evidenced by their investment in the students at Waite Park School. Located just a few blocks from the school, Mount Carmel looks forward to developing a relationship with the school in order to make a lasting impact on the lives of the students. The Sheridan Story is thrilled about what’s in store for this partnership!
