We’re Multiplying Our Impact on Child Hunger in Fall 2014
Summer is or will soon be officially over for students across the Twin Cities. The season flew by – it seems like just yesterday the snow was melting!
We at The Sheridan Story were very busy this summer moving into our new warehouse, securing a new food-hauling trailer (thank you, Cargill!), and gearing up for this coming school year.
And what a school year it’s going to be!
Together with our partners and community sponsors, The Sheridan Story will be serving kids in 25 schools across the Twin Cities this fall! That’s almost double the 13 schools in which we were active in Spring 2014. When those 25 schools are fully up and running, we expect to be reaching some 1,700 kids weekly – that’s 2.5 times more than in Spring 2014 – with the nutrition they need to sustain them over the weekend.
We are beyond excited about the incredible response from the community in joining the fight against child hunger. Churches, businesses, synagogues, nonprofits, and clubs are standing together to say that it is not acceptable for kids in our community to be hungry, and that we’re going to do something about it.
