Another Program Launches in Westonka at Shirley Hills Primary School

The Sheridan Story recently launched our first program in the Westonka School District at Hilltop Primary School while simultaneously making plans to launch our second at Shirley Hills Primary School in Mound, MN.

Shirley Hills is a K-4th grade school tucked on the west side of Lake Minnetonka. Due to its proximity to communities of wealth, many may assume that food insecurity doesn’t exist in the school. Unfortunately, it does, as evidenced by over 125 children at Shirley Hills who participate in free/reduced lunch.

Woodridge Church, located in Medina, MN, is a long-time partner of The Sheridan Story, serving as one of the founding churches of our first program in NE Minneapolis at Sheridan Elementary School. Woodridge is the church home of many congregants who live in the Westonka School district, and these congregants expressed an interest in sponsoring Shirley Hills. We’re excited to watch this new partnership impact the students of our community.
